Evaluation Comes First
A Comfort Specialist will schedule an appointment to do an evaluation of the present system in your home. Four different functions will be included in the evaluation:
- Check the cooling, the heating, the distribution (duct system) and the indoor air quality functions.
Using his lap top or I-Pad, as well as the ACquotepro.com software, the specialist will:
- Locate your home via Google satellite.
- Determine your home’s electronic heat load. (This evaluation measures the size of the current home’s system. It also measures the capacity of the current system, as well as how much glass the home has.
- How much sun (or heat) comes into the home will be evaluated. Based on this assessment, the Comfort Specialist can determine what size the equipment needs to be. He can also tell if the distribution system in the home is sized correctly.
Choose A Brand
The next part of the process is designed to assist you in selecting the brand, type of air conditioning system replacement and physical size of the air-conditioning system. If you have a brand preference, only options including that brand will be presented. If there is no brand preference, then other brands will be included in the proposal as well. The proposal shows four choices; BEST, BETTER, GOOD and BUDGET. Each one of these choices is easy to understand. You will see the details and prices including the cost of the installation. The details include:
- The brand
- The model
- All the necessary additional equipment and parts
- Home-Tech discounts (for Service Agreement members)
- Tax credits, rebates, and warranties

Every question you have will be answered by the Comfort Specialist. A copy of the proposal will be printed off and given to you. You will also receive a copy of the proposal via email for your consideration. Because Home-Tech receives daily pricing updates from manufacturers, the proposal is priced accurately. Although most consumers make a decision to accept the proposal in a day or two, the proposal does remain in effect for 4 weeks.
Time to Schedule the Job
When you decide to accept the proposal, a job contract is signed. November through February is the best time to schedule an installation of your new air-conditioning system. The prices will be lower and the installation could take place in a matter of days. In the busier seasons, prices will be higher (manufacturers do not offer as many rebates). If your system is down, Home-Tech will provide you a “loaner” to keep you comfortable.
The Big Day
On the day of your air-conditioning system installation two or three technicians will install the equipment. They should be able to complete the project that same day. It is best for you to be present, as the process will be explained. You will also receive an orientation about your new air-conditioning system. If the you are out of town, the installation can still take place. The instructions can be mailed and the orientation can take place at a later time.
