Eight Great Home-Tech Air Conditioning and Appliance Service Experiences

appliance serviceThere have been a flood of comments coming into Home-Tech about our service technician Brian. So get ready to read all the things our customers have been experiencing when Brian shows up – trained, ready . . . at your door!

“You ARE Open On Sundays”

I wanted to call regarding a service call I had this morning (Sunday).  Our refrigerator started making an awful noise that would probably have driven me insane shortly.  I didn’t think Home-Tech had Sunday hours but called in order to leave a message to have somoene call me on Monday to schedule a call.  To my surprise you are open on Sundays.  The call was answered by the most pleasant woman who immediately checked with one of your techs in the field to see when he could get to our house today.  She called right back to set a time of before noon.  Brian arrived well before noon, quickly determined that the icemaker needed replacement and within 20 minutes or so had everything cleaned up and completed.  Brian is terrific!  Thanks for being open for things like this and employing such great people!

~Dick Pierce

“Did Not Sell Us Something We Didn’t Need”

Writing to let you know what a great job Brian did for us.  Took the time to solve our problem without trying to sell us something we did not need.  He is a credit to Home-Tech!  Please extend our thanks to him.

~Gene and Karen Haemmerle, Naples, FL

“Very, Very Professional”

Brian came and he was wonderful.  He called in advance and said he’d be here in 15 minutes and he was.  He was very very professional.  We could not have been more pleased.  Thank you very much! We like Home-Tech!

~Grace Pike, Naples, FL

“Very Knowledgeable”

Brian S visited our home today and worked on our dishwasher.  He did a great job, was very knowledgeable and discussed what he was doing and what we could do to keep the dishwasher working in good order.

~William and Carolyn Reynolds

“9PM Repair”

I want to compliment Brian S for showing up at 9pm last night to repair my air conditioner.  It was very late on Saturday and very hot in my house.  Brian was very pleasant and efficient even though he had been working all day and well into the night.  Thanks!

~Tom O’Brien

“Grade of A+”

Brian S worked at our condo.  He showed up within the time frame; performed air-conditioning maintenance efficiently; and replaced a garbage disposal.  He was friendly, courteous, and knowledgeable.  As two former college professors, we would give him a grade of A+.  We see him as a valuable employee of Home-Tech.

~Cal and Judy Walker, Bonita Springs, FL

“Great Customer Service Skills”

Just a note to say that Brian S is a friendly and courteous person with great customer service skills.  Home-Tech always provides great service and it is appreciated.

~Jane and Wayne Silverman

The other day I had my thermostat changed on a water heater by Brian.  He was very professional, arrived on time and finished in a short period.  All of my experience with your company has been outstanding so far.  Keep up the good work.

Good Job Solving Air Conditioning Problems

Air conditioning tech Home-TechHere some glowing testimonials from five of our customers about the good job done by one of our technicians – Shawn.

“Great Work”

Great work by Shawn and his service manager, Matt.  What we thought was a bad AC part turned out to be an electrical problem.  Good job in diagnosing and solving the problem.  I’m impressed.

Joanne Boelter

“Go the Extra Mile”

Shawn came to my home to do the annual clean and check on our air conditioning system.  He did an excellent job of inspecting, evaluating and cleaning the system.  He was courteous and professional in his demeanor and he explained everything that he had done and had found with the system.

I mentioned to him that at the last two annual checks the technicians had to add coolant.  He carefully inspected the outside system and found that a valve was defective and there was a leak at the valve.  He phoned in and said he would set up a service call to correct the problem.  By going the extra mile he found the leak in the system that was not detected on the two previous inspections.

He did an excellent job and I want to commend his efforts.

~ Francis Carlin, Jr, Naples, FL

“Very Impressed”

Shawn did our six month service today and we were very impressed. He did a thorough job (and it was hot up in our attic) and is very courteous, friendly young man.  Thanks for sending him to do our service call.

~Doug and Nancy Campbell

“Courteous and Friendly”

We had our home air conditioner serviced by Home-Tech at the beginning of the month.  The tech was very courteous and friendly.  He seemed to know what he was doing and explained everything as he went.  Before leaving he asked if we had any questions or any other problems with the air conditioner that he had not addressed.  My husband did have a question about the filters and the tech was very helpful and answered his question to his satisfaction.

~Dorothy Gill, Fort Myers, FL

“Asset To Your Company”

This morning I had an appointment for a clean and check on my air conditioner.  Shawn called me first and let me know he was only minutes away.  He opened the unit and told me the coils were really dirty.  This young man was polite and did his job extremely well.  He is an asset to your company.  I hope you are aware of his integrity.  It was a pleasure to have him in our home. Thank you.

Home-Tech’s Duckster For PACE Duck Race in Manatee

Pace duck entrant for Home-TechTechster Duckster, Home-Tech’s special friend, the duck is back in training for the Duck Race coming up May 11th to benefit the Pace Center for Girls.  You can learn more about the big race at www.duckrace.com/Manatee.  I was privileged to interview him the moment his plane touched down at KSRQ.

Techster Duckster, so nice to see you again.  I can’t help but notice you have a new plane.  Have you given up flying with your own duck wings?

Well as you know the Duck Race for PACE is more of a swimming event.  I’ll be paddling like crazy down the Manatee River.  There is no flying allowed in the competition, so I have backed down a bit on my flying training schedule and focused on my swimming and paddling. After all, I can travel a lot faster when I’m in my plane.  Being that Home-Tech has two locations now, one on Lena Road and one in Ft Myers, it’s easier for me to go back and forth quickly in the plane.

What do you do for Home-Tech?

Well, you probably know that Home-Tech is the largest ac contractor and appliance service company in southwest Florida.  I originally thought I’d be a technician and help people when their ac or appliances were broken down.  But I found that whenever I got their ac working again, the cool air blowing was so powerful that it just blew me away.  And anytime I get near a kitchen appliance, I get these bad vibes because I’ve heard a lot of stories from friends about roast duck and things like that.  So . . . being a technician is just not for me.  But I’m a great representative for Home-Tech in the Duck Race and also a “spokesduck”.  My beak is quacking all the time about Home-Tech.  I have all good things to say.  Home-Tech is a wonderful employee owned company that does so many things to benefit the community.

Are you attending the Duck Slap Party at Home-Tech’s Brandenton location on Lena Road?ducks for duck race for PACE

Oh, yes I wouldn’t miss it.  Are you kidding?  I’m the host.  I’m going to be sure everyone visits the new appliance showroom and gets a snack.  There will be 100 volunteers showing up to slap entry numbers on the bottoms of all the ducklings for the race.  It will be a really fun event.  It starts at 5pm on Monday, May 6th.  Volunteers are welcome to come and help.  Home-Tech’s location is at 5202 Lena Road.

So, Techster Duckster, the Corporate Best Dressed Duck Challenge is coming up on May 10th.  You have chosen a different look this year.  Why?

I took advice from my stylist from last year, Christina Hollis.  She thought I should go for a more debonair look, more sporty.  I really like my flying hat and jaunty scarf.  It’s a little retro.  It does look great on me.  I think I’m going to be a shoe in to win. You can VOTE for me to win starting tomorrow in the People’s Choice contest on Facebook.  I sure would appreciate the support!

How many ducks are you up against in the Duck Race and what are the prizes like this year?

I will have 15,000 fellow ducks racing me.  I’m going to have to be at the top of my game to win!  The grand prize this year is a new car!!  Can you believe that?  If you want to adopt a duck for the race it only costs $5.00.  You can do that at www.duckrace.com/Manatee.  It’s all for a great cause to benefit the girls at the Pace Center.  I’m counting down the days to the race . . . only one more week!

Thanks for agreeing to the interview, Techster Duckster.  What does the rest of the day hold for you?

I think I’m going to fly up to Home-Tech in Ft Myers today and get the employees there excited about adopting some of my duck buddies.  After all, who couldn’t use a new car?

AC and Appliance Techs Go the Extra Mile

Air conditioning techI would like to give an “Atta Boy” to Kevin. Two other techs had proceeded Kevin and attacked the stopped up draining line from the pan under the air handler.  Both had appeared to fix the problem, but it kept returning.  Kevin came late in the evening like the one before him, went into the attic and found where the drainage line had a dip in it and corrected the cause.  Hats off to Kevin for going the extra mile and getting the job done! We’ve had Home Tech Service since almost the beginning and have highly recommended it to others.  The new owners of our house plan to keep the service.  ~ Jackie L. Hornsby

More Kudos for KevinAir Conditioning Home-Tech Service vehicle

This is to express my thanks to Kevin on his service call of this morning.  He is an outstanding technician who is knowledgeable in all aspects of big and small appliance repair.  He brings not only a high degree of professionalsism but is also very personable.  Our problem was taken care of quickly.  I believe Home-Tech is well represented by this employee and is lucky to have him aboard.

Air Conditioning Terms – What is SEER?

Air Conditioning Seer CalculationLast weekend Home-Tech had a special event in our showroom in Bradenton.  There were quite a few of our appliance and ac experts on hand to answer questions from customers.  I was visiting with customers in our air conditioning educational area in our showroom and happened to overhear a customer ask our salesperson, “What is a Seer?”  We understand that for the average customer, much of air conditioning terminology can be a mystery.  After all, we aren’t all engineers or ac specialists.  So let’s tackle this topic today.  What does SEER mean?

Seasonal Energy Efficiency Ratio – SEER

This term is a way to rate the efficiency of an air conditioning unit.  The higher the number the better.  It’s like getting a higher score on a test.  Speaking of tests, here’s the math part of the rating.  SEER is actually the cooling output during a typical season divided by the total energy input during the same season.  Starting in January of 2006 all residential ac units sold in the US had to have a SEER of at least 13.  To be qualified as an ENERGY STAR air conditioner the unit had to have a SEER of at least 14.  Now there are units with much higher SEER ratings.

The longer your cooling season (ehem – Florida for example) the more you can justify the cost of installing a higher SEER air conditioning unit because the cost savings on your utility bills will ultimately pay you back for the purchase cost of your new system.  One note:  it is very important to do the maintenance on your system as the SEER will decrease if you don’t.  It doesn’t make any sense to spend the money on a high efficiency system so you get a great SEER rating and then not do the minor maintenance to take care of it.

Let Us Do the Equation For Youair conditioning service

Call today to set up a complimentary visit from one our air conditioning experts.  In just a short visit they can do the calculations and show you what you can save by upgrading your ac system to one with a higher SEER.  Want more information about some of the best systems out there today?  Check out our BEST Air Conditioning System recommendations.

Over The Top Air Conditioning Service by Home-Tech

air condioning service technicianWhat a great Service Technician, polite, removed shoes, light carpet, you know.   We are on the second floor and he went up and down with tools, ladders, vacum, and supplies.  We learned something new on two counts important to us, not to have a double filter on top of the ceiling.  He said it was restricting and would operate better without the second filter in ceiling.

Also that it is best to run the air conditioning unit  without the Humidistat, most important to us as we head north for the hot summer here.  Even with great home watcher we must take every precaution we can.  He cleaned and checked everything concerning HVAC   inside and outside that did not move.  I hope you will send him back next time we call.

Home-Tech Air Conditioning Service Appointment Results

Air Conditioning Home-Tech Service vehicleI want to be sure I let you know that our Home Tech representative, Joe did an outstanding job servicing our 3 air conditioning units yesterday.

He called ahead to advise me he was on his way and would arrive within 20-30 minutes, completely within the window that was scheduled, but helpful to know when he would be at my front door.

Joe explained what he’d work on first and made very efficient use of his time by not running up and down stairs, finishing his ladder use on one floor before proceding to another.  After each unit was inspected and serviced, Joe advised the status of the specific unit.  This avoided a lot of confusion on the part of the customer!

I did not have the pleated replacement filters available since I was not sure of the sizes.  Joe wrote down the sizes I needed and the exact quantities, which allowed me to get them from the hardware store immediately for replacement while he was still here working.

Paperwork was completed neatly, explained by unit and additional follow up information was provided.  It was an extremely hot day, Joe maintained his calm demeanor and completed the clean & check service admirably.  He’s a real asset to your business!

Home-Tech Wraps Up Great Service

service vehicleWhile most of Home-Tech’s customers find us for air conditioning or appliance repairs by Googling us or asking a friend for a recommendation, we do hear from so many of you that you saw our trucks.  With over 90 service vehicles on the road every day we admit that they are hard to miss.  But now . . . keep your eyes peeled.  Our trucks are “wrapped” in a new design and you will be seeing them all over our five county service area in the next few weeks.

Every Girl’s Crazy About a Sharp Dressed Van

Remember back in the day when you were on a first date.  First impressions were everything right?  If the young man showed up looking nice and being friendly you were much more likely to go out with him.  We want to make a great first impression on our customers.  That’s why step one with Home-Tech is we will show up in a clean, sharp looking vehicle which is fully stocked. We want to make a favorable impression on our customers so you will continue to refer us to your friends.

Why Should You Hire a Service Company with Well Cared for Vehicles?

When you hire a company to come to your home and make a repair of your air conditioning and appliances and they show up in a great looking, clean vehicle what does that say about that company?   At Home-Tech we want to communicate with our customers that we care about you and your home.  Our service vehicles are clean and well taken care of.  They won’t leak oil and stain your driveway.  And then our technicians are neat and tidy, polite and in uniforms.  They wear shoe protectors in your home to protect your surfaces and they always clean up after a job, leaving your home in better shape than it was before.

Other companies do not go to the trouble that Home-Tech does to provide you with a concierge-like service experience.  The guy pulling up in a white van with haphazard lettering on it is not making the effort to be the BEST at everything, like Home-Tech is.  It’s really the first clue that perhaps you have not chosen the best service company.  He probably hasn’t received the extensive training that Home-Tech technicians have either.

The sharp looking service vehicle is just the first clue of the efforts that a company will go to work hard for you and do the job right.  From your first call with our customer service reps, to the technician arriving in the truck, to the excellent repair service you will receive Home-Tech prioritizes your satisfaction with our service. See other things you should look for when considering hiring an AC contractor.

Truck Wraps Are An Affordable Means of Advertising

Having our service vehicles wrapped and on the road every day is just like having 90 moving billboards out there.  The average life of a truck wrap is 5 years, so for a very minimal investment, lots of people can learn about Home-Tech and find us.  This cuts down on our advertising costs and our overhead, saving you money on your service in the long run.

We appreciate you recommending us to your friends for service.  That is free advertisement for our company and it means so much to us.

If you or a friend are in need of a repair, call us today to schedule service at 800-800-8356.  Maybe one of our new vehicles will show up in your driveway and you’ll get to see in person what all the buzz is about.
