The Best Microwave – Home-Tech Recommendations

best microwavesWhen it comes to investing in the best microwave, we decided to talk to the experts in Home-Tech’s Fort Myers sparkling appliance showroom. There was a time when owning a microwave was a major luxury and consumers had to save their pennies to be able to afford one. These days, you can walk into just about any grocery store or even pharmacy and pick one up in between the styrofoam beer coolers and box fans — but, are you getting one that’s going to break down after a few months? It may be a bargain, but it’s not what you bargained for.

Less Service Calls . . . More Reliability

The technicians at Home-Tech repair microwaves in SW Florida homes each and every day so they know which brands are the most reliable. The appliance store only provides the best microwave brands with all the bells and whistles and that last the longest.  The appliance sales reps at Home-Tech walked us around the showroom and gave us a tour of the best of the best when it comes to microwaves. Yes — there are some snazzy features you’ll love, but most importantly, these appliances are reliable and THAT’S what it’s all about.

Here are the top three BEST microwave recommendations from Home-Tech:

The G.E. Profile (model #PVM9179SFSS)best microwaves 2014

  2. There are two oven wire racks, which makes multi-tasking easy.
  3. Plus, it’s also a convection oven — two great appliances in one!

The Bosch 800 Series Convection Over-The-Range Microwave Oven (model #HMV8052U)

  1. Another quality manufacturer that the appliance store at Home-Tech loves is Bosch.
  2. With an automatic defrost function and a sensor that lets you know when your food is done, this microwave is one of the best, most trustworthy appliances on the market.

The Whirlpool Microwave Hood Combination (model #WMH76719CS)

  1. Another solid, reliable microwave that will keep you cooking, not calling for service.
  2. This one not only features sensor cooking, but it doubles as a steamer.

You can see these top three recommendations and many more quality top of the line microwaves at one of Home-Tech’s showrooms or at www.home-tech.us.  Check them out and you’ll be cooking in your dream microwave in no time!

Appliance Insurance – Beware the Middlemen

PrintEmployee owned Home-Tech has been repairing appliances and air conditioning for over 33 years and Service Agreements, the perfect hedge against expensive repair bills. We have seen a lot of “appliance insurance” products popping up recently from banks, insurance companies, home warranty companies and even utilities that offer a lot of “big talk” about taking care of your appliances and ac units when they break down. Well here’s the skinny on all of this.

Those companies are middlemen, desk jockeys that only want to collect their fee and pass your repair off to unknown subcontractors. They don’t directly take care of your repairs like Home-Tech does. They are NOT local companies and they are not employee owned.

Be Wary Of This

  • Is there any emergency, after hours service?
  • Is he in a marked vehicle?
  • Is he licensed, fully trained, background checked, and drug free?
  • When will he get there? Will it be days? Weeks?
  • Is he qualified to repair your equipment?
  • Will you have to pay a service call fee?
  • Will he have the necessary parts on his truck?
  • Is his work guaranteed in any way?

Let’s face it!  A bank, an insurance company, home warranty company or a utility company are not in the repair business. You are really rolling the dice when you go with one of these companies. So, beware the middleman. Learn how Home-Tech’s Service Agreement differs from what the middlemen offer.

Go Localappliance insurance

Go with the local favorite in SW Florida -employee owned Home-Tech. Thousands of customers have been pleased with our service and continue to renew their Service Agreements year after year. Ask your neighbors who they use when they need an appliance or ac repair. Home-Tech repairs all brands, all makes and models. With over 90 trucks on the road every day you will see us over and over again out in your community making repairs.  Again and again you will hear about Home-Tech throughout SW Florida.

Appliances Have Come A Long Way, Baby – Which Means Happier Moms!

vintage washerAs you order flowers, pick out the perfect card, and make brunch reservations for Mother’s Day, we here at Home-Tech are reflecting on how much easier moms have it in 2014 than back in yesteryear. Sure, we still work hard at keeping our homes in shape, raising kids, and maintaining a career – but, looking back at how primitive appliances once were, you’ve got to wonder how our grandmothers and great-grandmothers managed without anti-depressants or spa days.

Washing Woes

In 1940, grandma had to first fill her brand new state-of-the-art washing machine with water. She then had to feed each item of clothing, one by one, through a ringer – then she had to hand crank the clothes clean. You can still purchase a vintage washing machine for mom on some Internet sites, but unless you want to be disinherited, I suggest a diamond tennis bracelet instead.

Ice, Ice, BabyGE Kitchen

We’ve made leaps and bounds with refrigerators, too. In the 1920′s, our foremothers had to contend with ice boxes. An ice box didn’t mean little cubes for your Diet Coke or a freezer for your Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Ice Cream. It meant a wooden box with a block of ice in it — period. And great-grandma had to hope for the best that the ice man would cometh on the regular. If not, there was no Febreeze back then to mask the smell of spoiled food.

Dish Pan Hands

As far as dishwashers went in the turn-of-the-century, moms had to first pump the water into a bucket and then transfer it into two tin tubs – one for washing and one for rinsing – but, first, she probably had to make her own soap. Even as fancy and easy as dishwashers are today, we suggest NOT letting mom touch a single dirty dish on Mother’s Day. Breakfast in bed on a tray with a rose and a mimosa is the recommended way to go – and by the time she decides to get up, the kitchen should sparkle.

Home-Tech has the best appliances by Maytag, G.E., Bosch, and more to choose from and to make mom’s life easier (a weekend at a resort is always a good idea, too). Happy Mother’s Day!

Home-Tech Announces European Appliance Break Through!

washer2The newest in technology and innovation has come EXCLUSIVELY to Home-Tech. We’re thrilled to report that Home-Tech is the only appliance retailer in the United States to carry the latest in innovation and technology from the brand new French Appliance Designer, Avil Trompier.

While Avil Trompier is new, the design company, located in Menteur, France is already receiving rave reviews and accolades in the appliance industry — and Home-Tech is introducing the La Laundry Extraordinaire!

It Does Everything

The experts at Avil Trompier have been working on this inventive new washer and dryer package at their headquarters in Menteur, France since 1996, and finally, they’ve unveiled a machine that has the appliance industry amazed. You simply load your laundry in and push a button as a dispenser senses how much water and detergent is needed and fills automatically. After the rinse and spin cycle is complete, the La Laundry Extraordinaire becomes a dryer, with air coming from small holes in the barrel.

But, That’s Not All

French designers were able to add a whole new element! After the laundry is dry, a component within the machine then separates and folds everything in the La Laundry Extraordinaire. When this process is complete, your freshly folded laundry is rolled out onto a conveyer belt. But before you have to put it away, grab a chair and pull it up to La Laundry Extraordinaire as something truly revolutionary happens (leave it to the French to come up with something so fabulous). Slide your bare feet up to La Laundry Extraordinaire and sit back as prosthetic, life-like hands emerge from inside the machine to give you a one hour foot massage. Yes, that’s right — Avil Trompier has you covered in every way!

Note: Avil Trompier is easily translated into English (Avil is French for April; Trompier is French for Fools). Happy April Fool’s Day from Home-Tech — and let’s hope somebody comes up with La Laundry Extraordinaire SOON. Meanwhile, Home-Tech has you covered for all you appliance needs.

Man Finds Leprechaun In His Refrigerator!

refrigerator leprichaunThis just in – Mick O’ Malley of Southwest Florida opened his refrigerator on St. Patrick’s Day to find a wee, green leprechaun lurking inside. Upon discovering the alleged mythological creature, O’ Malley immediately alerted local police. According to Officer Brian O’ Callahan, O’ Malley was pretty shook up, “Me and the missus had a few friends over for St. Pat’s Day,” he explained. “I went to the ‘fridge to get another Guinness – it helps the corn beef and cabbage go down, ya’ know – and there he was! He had a little pipe in his hand and he looked real cheerful – he was doing a little jig on top of my case of beer!”

Man Fails Sobriety Test

Suspicious, Officer O’ Callahan issued a field sobriety test on O’ Malley and determined that his leprechaun sighting was the result of too many spirited adult beverages. “I’m Irish, too,” said Officer O’ Callahan. “On St. Patrick’s Day, revelers have been known to see little green men. We’re used to these reports.” Officer O’ Callahan advised O’ Malley to drink several glasses of water, take two Advils, and head to bed.

Avoid Leprechaun Sightings With The Keginatorrefrigerator leprichaun 2

For not that much green, beer connoisseurs and St. Patrick’s Day partiers can cut the fridge out altogether with True’s Beverage Dispenser available at Home-Tech. It’s perfect for a keg of beer, thus earning the name “The Keginator”. With two convenient taps, and an ice cold cooling system, you won’t have to open the door and risk seeing any dancing leprechauns (they still may be there, but you won’t see them, trust us). You don’t need the luck of the Irish to learn more, just your cheerful Home-Tech Rep — where your pot of gold awaits you! And remember the old saying: “An Irishman is never drunk as long as he can hold onto one blade of grass to keep from falling off the earth.”

Happy St. Patrick’s Day from all of us at Home-Tech.

Service Way Beyond the Others

Service Tech Boss!
I just wanted to note service done by 2 of your Techs that went way beyond what techs normally do. Had so much problems last year that it was a relief to get Techs that was so concerned, knowledgeable and understood us as people and just not a ticket number to do in the shift! So I want to commend you for sending 2 of your best! Brian and Ryan!
Sincerely:

Gold Star and Two Thumbs Upappliance repair

Brian  just left after a visit to repair our old(ish) Thermador oven. He arrived precisely when he said he would, and was pleasant and very professional. He even double-checked that he’d shut the access panels to our circuit panel. I give him a gold star and two thumbs up!
C. Vilks

Very Professional

This email is to let you know that Brian arrived on time, was very professional,  and very personable. In my opinion, those three traits are very rare these days, especially  to find  all three in one person!  The fan on my A/C unit would not stop running and he replaced the thermostat and now it works great!  “Atta Boy”  Brian and Home Tech!!

The Bachelor and His Refrigerator

bachelor freezerThe three-hour season finale of the “The Bachelor” was last night with two ladies remaining, vying for the indecisive heart of Venezuelan hunk, Juan Pablo Galavis. Which lady did you root for? Someday maybe he will marry and have his life change forever – and that includes his refrigerator.

A Bachelor’s Appliances Could Be As Lonely as He Is

Whether it’s a bachelor friend, a son or brother on his own, or a dude that rooms with other dudes – guys’ refrigerators can often be barren wastelands. Some are filled with only a plethora of condiments for all the take-out they consume; others boast beer, beer, and MORE beer; still others are filled with bottled water (to take on runs and work-outs) and half-eaten pizzas (to eat cold for breakfast). Oh, how we hope that Juan Pablo’s woman will fill his soul AND his refrigerator.

Use it Or Lose Itbachelor refrigerator

At Home-Tech, we know that if you’re living like a bachelor, you’re probably using your appliances sparingly. A single guy (or gal) might use the microwave often, but the stove doesn’t get the same kind of attention. Instead of giving it a rose and sending it on its way, it’s important to turn it on once or twice a month to keep it in running order. Same as your dishwasher; hopefully you’re recycling all those paper plates and red solo cups, but it’s necessary to keep your dishwasher healthy and lubricated by running it now and then.

Revving Things Up

Seasonal residents wonder why their appliances break down when they’re very sparingly using them (because they are hardly here). Not often using them can be a part of the problem. If you have friends or neighbors checking on your Florida home while you’re up north during the summer, it’s not a bad idea to have them rev up your appliances.

You Don’t Have to Go It Alone When You Have Home-Tech

We are here for you every day of the week if any of your appliances stand you up. Home-Tech considers refrigerator repair an emergency. We don’t want you to lose your fridge contents if it stops cooling. So give us a call for service. We won’t show up in a limo, but we will arrive as soon as possible to do your refrigerator repair.
