Professional Approach to Appliance Repair and Air Conditioning Service

attaboy_sealblue

Home-Tech’s customers are always quick to report in when they think a technician has been doing a good job with appliance repair and air conditioning repair. Today’s “Attaboys” are for Nick. If you would like to have this kind of quality service and have all of it at NO CHARGE look into our Service Agreements.

Professional Approach

I was very pleased with NICK the service man.  His professional approach to solve the problem impressed me. Nick has a good work ethic and  takes pride in his work.  Nick cleaned up the work area.  I appreciated this, I did not have to clean up. Take good care of NICK. He takes his job seriously, that is rare to find in workers, that want to be the best at what they do. A special order part is required.  I  would very much like NICK to return to complete the job. Thank You.

Great Job, Efficient, Quickappliance repair technician

I’m reporting on Nick from Home-Tech. He gave me outstanding service today. He has been to my home before and the repeat visit today was very welcome. It was good to see him.  The visit today was a great job, efficient, quick, in and out  – thumbs up. Have a good day!

Happy with Their Work

I had two nice young men come out and do some repairs at my home. One of them was Nick and his associate Brian was with him. They did an excellent job, they even cleaned up a little bit and it took them no time at all.  I just wanted to say how happy I was with their work. So thank you very much.

Celebrate Senior Citizen Day with an Appliance Repair Service Agreement

seniorsThis month, Home-Tech celebrated National Senior Citizens Day and you won’t be surprised to learn that some folks are happy to step right up and own their special day by treating themselves to a congratulatory lunch out or taking advantage of discount drinks at Happy Hour. I know of one frugal penny-pinching lady who, while still in her mid-40s, did her best to convince cashiers in various area stores that she was old enough for the senior citizen discount — seriously, she’d go shopping without make-up, her hair in a scarf, and wear sensible, but unflattering polyester pants. When she really wanted the discount, like when she went to the movies, she’d wear reading glasses and even fake a slightly frail voice, just to save $3.50, “That’s right, sonny,” she’d say to the ticket-taker, “I’m an old timer; I’m 55.” When she finally did turn 55, she celebrated – and if denied the Senior Citizen Discount, she always had her Driver’s License at the ready.

Not Quite Ready…Father's Day

Meanwhile, I have friends who throw away their AARP invitation and cards whenever they receive them in the mail. They don’t even bother opening up the envelope. They find holding onto their youth to be far more important than saving a buck or two. These are the same people who still got carded for buying beer well into their 40s and like to remind you at every opportunity.

Senior Citizen or Not, We’ve Got Your Appliance Repair Needs Covered

The good news is, whether you’re welcoming senior citizenship with open arms, or you’d prefer to keep it under wraps, you can have it both ways with a Service Agreement from Home-Tech. If you want to feel youthful and carefree, worry lines and wrinkles will smooth right out when you’re guaranteed that if one of your appliances breaks, Home-Tech will have a qualified technician to your home before you know it.

home tech gold service agreementYou won’t have to sit around, wait, or furrow your brow. On the other hand, if you pride yourself on being a Senior Citizen and saving big bucks, then you’ll love that we have two Service Agreements to choose from – Gold and Silver. You pay one price for the year and SO much is taken care of. Gold includes unlimited Service Calls and both Agreements provide emergency service, 7 days a week, including holidays.

So, whether you’re welcoming your golden years and silver hair, or you’re a little slower about celebrating the next chapter, Home-Tech celebrates YOU – Senior Citizen, or not.

Air Conditioning and Appliance Repairs Done Well by Joe from Home-Tech

appliance repairsAppliance repairs and air conditioning repairs are dreaded by most people, but not by Home-Tech customers.  They know they are going to get a quality technician like Joe showing up and doing the job right.  Also if they are GOLD Service Agreement customers that service call and repair (parts and labor) on covered items is going to end up being NO CHARGE. Neat, Considerate and Polite

On July 8, 2014 we had service on our Whirlpool washer performed by Shawn and Joe at our residence in Catalina Isles. We commend Home-Tech for hiring such quality individuals. The overall experience with them was excellent. They were on time, neat, considerate, polite, unobtrusive, and knowledgeable. Basically, everything good one could hope for. As work-at-home husband and wife, we were able to continue working seamlessly throughout the service period. We recently transferred our AC service to Home-Tech in addition to our in-home appliance coverage and recommend others to do the same.

Bonita Springs Air Conditioner Service Reviews

Bonita Springs air conditionerHome-Tech has been providing Bonita Springs air conditioner service for over 33 years.  And that’s not all . . . customers are loving it!  Read some Bonita Springs customer reviews below about Dan and his great service and attitude.  Way to go, Dan. Attaboy!

Great Job, Done Professionally

Dust had been accumulating in the condo for some time and last week, I noticed a frame on the thermostat which indicated  the filter was not working. It is for health reasons I have this special a/c, which you  all advised me to purchase and install 3 years ago.

Your serviceman Dan #083 appeared before the day was out and the filter was replaced the next day and working great. He gets kudos from me; great job done on my air conditioner, professionally, courteously and he was very caring.

Thanks again Dan for the excellent job.

Save Your Parents from Appliance Repairs

appliance repair for parentsWe’re celebrating Parents’ Day here at Home-Tech and while Mom probably loves flowers and Dad might like a gift certificate to Outback, flowers don’t last and meals are soon forgotten after the last bite. If you really want to take care of Mom and Dad and give them the gift that keeps giving, how about removing the stress, hassle, and worry from their lives?

Appliance Repairs Are A Dragappliance repair

When an appliance breaks down it’s not only costly, it’s a time-waster to sit around waiting on an appliance repair person to show up. If it’s the dishwasher, Mom’s going to be stuck at the kitchen sink scrubbing pots and pans – if it’s the dryer, you know Dad’s going to get out the toolbox and try to repair it himself, which isn’t going to work and makes for even more headaches. So, take care of our parents with a Service Agreement and give them the invaluable gift . . . peace of mind.

The Gifts of Gold and Silver

Home-Tech has been providing fast, emergency service for 33 years – and we serve in five Southwest Florida counties. There’s two great plans to choose from – Gold and Silver. Our Gold Service Agreement means one of each of all major appliances are covered with repair service through the year, plus all service calls are unlimited and free – even on weekends and holidays. Our Silver Service Agreement features many of the same advantages, such as an annual air-conditioning clean and check, plus complete parts and labor coverage, and you pay only a minimal service call fee. So, if you’re a parent, tell your kids what gift you really want – gold or silver.

Or just forward them this blog post – they’ll get the hint.

Bonita Springs Air Conditioning Service Review

attaboy_sealblueBonita Springs residents have been enjoying service from Home-Tech’s air conditioning technicians for over 33 years. Whether they have needed an air conditioning repair or ac maintenance or a clean and check, we have been there for them.  The reviews pour in every day.  Here are a few for Matthew.  Attaboy, Matthew for being a Bonita Springs air conditioning service star!  If you would like to give us a review please check out our Google+ page.  We really appreciate the feedback!

5 out of 5 Stars

Matthew serviced my AC/Heating system.  It was a pleasure to have him here.  He not only provided service but gave me a couple of tips for setting them when I am out of town and suggested filters that I could use instead of the reusable one he provided.  I would give him a 5 out of 5 stars.

Home-Tech Wants to See You in a Hammock

hammockdayThis summer, Home-Tech has been celebrating the good things in life that make these long, hot days not just bearable – but, downright enjoyable. Whether it’s iced tea, homemade ice cream, the comfy cool of air conditioning, or the Fourth of July, we’ve been applauding it. So, how fabulous is it that this week, we get to observe National Hammock Day?

Heavenly Hammocks

Of course, there’s plenty of expensive, fancy, designer outdoor furniture to choose from – and there are lots of folks that spend more on their outdoor living area than their indoor one – and that’s just fine. But, it’s hard to think of a more relaxing way to spend an afternoon than lying in a good old-fashioned hammock in the shade. Mind you, actually getting into a hammock can be a struggle and unless you’ve perfected the art, it’s not exactly graceful. Sitting in the middle and then swinging your legs in tends to be an issue of balance and not all of us have that. Running and jumping in is never a wise idea — unless, perhaps, you’re under the age of 10 or you’re wearing a helmet and knee pads. In the end, practice makes perfect and mastering the art of relaxing doesn’t sound like a bad way to pass the time. Finally, once you get into your comfy hammock and you’re blissfully swaying in a gentle breeze with a good book, the LAST thing you want on your mind is a broken appliance or worse in the heat, a broken air conditioner. That’s why we recommend a Service Agreement with Home-Tech.

Relaxation, not Agitationservice agreements gold

A Service Agreement is all about your peace of mind, as we’d much rather see you napping in a hammock than fretting about a refrigerator on the fritz or an air conditioner not doing its job. Our Gold Service Agreement means one of each of all major appliances and your air conditioning system are covered through the year, plus all service calls are unlimited and free – even on weekends and holidays. Our Silver Service Agreement features many of the same advantages, such as an annual air-conditioning clean and check, plus complete parts and labor coverage, and you pay only a minimal service call fee.

AC Repair Home-TechSo, get to practicing your hammock grace and agility so you can chill out and let Home-Tech handle any appliance or air conditioning surprises – when it comes to those, we’ve got you covered.

Refrigerators with Bottom Freezers Perfect for Your Ice Cream

icecreamdayAh, the energy and impatience of youth — those were the two main ingredients that went into making homemade ice cream back in the day. And since National Ice Cream Day fell on the calendar this past Sunday (we here it Home-Tech actually prefer to celebrate the holiday all month long — oh, never mind, let’s be honest — all YEAR long), let’s look back on the days of homemade ice cream and let’s look into the perfect storage for your ice cream – refrigerators with bottom freezers.

Grandma’s Ice Cream Was The Best

Sure, you could buy ice cream at the store, but there was nothing like the rich, smooth, sweet, fresh taste of homemade — and usually, it was Grandma’s recipe, which meant eggs, sugar, vanilla, fresh cream, and the best, most important ingredient of all — Eagle Brand sweetened condensed milk. If you were lucky, your Grandma let you lick the inside top of the can (so good!). Next came the hard part, which meant dealing with with the ice, the rock salt, and that incredibly heavy wooden and cast iron contraption known as an Ice Cream Maker. And that’s when the adults kicked back with a cold glass of sweet tea and put the kids to work cranking.

Building Muscles and Appetitesbottom freezers

For folks 40-ish and older, childhood just wasn’t childhood unless you did your time cranking the ice cream maker — and you had to keep cranking, fast and constantly, to churn the ingredients. If you got lazy and stopped, you’d just end up with really thick cream instead of the fluffy, delicious, and most importantly, cold, ice cream you craved on a hot July day.

bottom freezerFreezing Your Sweet Creation

While things seemed better way back then, let’s remember that everything was also smaller, including freezers, so there wasn’t much room to fit ice, frozen meat, other staples, plus a carton of homemade ice cream — so you had to either eat it quick, or your Grandma had to do some creative freezer puzzle work. Something that HAS gotten better since childhood is freezers — and Home-Tech carries a variety that not only will fit your budget, but all the ice cream you want — homemade or store bought. One of the most popular models these days is the bottom drawer freezer and Home-Tech boasts proven, quality brands from manufacturers like Bosch, KitchenAid, Maytag, and more — and plenty of these Refrigerators with Bottom Freezers feature money-savings rebates. Just stop into one of our sparkling showrooms in Bradenton or Fort Myers.

Here’s the Recipe

And now that you’re in the mood for ice cream, check out this super easy recipe (no ice cream maker required — you already did your time at the crank):

1/2 cup of cold milk
1 tablespoon of vanilla extract
1 (14 oz.) can of sweetened condensed milk
1/8 teaspoon of salt
1 pint of heavy cream

In a medium bowl, stir together cold milk, vanilla, condensed milk, and salt. Set aside.

In a large bowl, beat heavy cream with an electric mixer until stiff peaks form. Fold milk mixture into whipped cream.

Pour into shallow 2 quart dish, cover and freeze for 4 hours, stirring once after 2 hours or when edges start to harden. Serve or store in an airtight container for up to 10 days. Yields 12 tasty servings.

3 Tips to Keep Your Air Conditioner Hurricane Safe

hurricane safeLike it or not, it’s officially Hurricane Season in Southwest Florida – and all we can do is keep our fingers crossed that we don’t end up in the proverbial Cone of Uncertainty. Home-Tech is here to help you keep your air conditioner hurricane safe should the worst happen.

Hurricane Safe – Stay Away Jim and Anderson!

If you’ve lived in the area for awhile, you’re prepared for the storm watches and the close calls, but if Jim Cantore of the Weather Channel shows up to broadcast live from our beaches in a rain pancho, we’ll know we’re in trouble. Worse yet, if Anderson Cooper arrives wearing galoshes and has a camera man in tow, then it’s DEFINITELY time to head for higher ground.

Power Woes

During Hurricane Charley, back in 2004, there was plenty to contend with, but probably the most challenging part of the aftermath was lack of power. And to make it all the more worse, it was August – the steamiest month of the year. The heat and humidity sent many of us to bars, where there was air-conditioning, ice, and relief from the relentless stickiness. And pretzels – bars also have pretzels.

Keep Your Air Conditioner Hurricane Safehurricane safe

But for many unlucky homeowners, even when the power came back, they were still suffering in sweaty weather because their outdoor air conditioners had gone the way of Dorothy’s house in “The Wizard of Oz” – indeed, when you’re faced  with a category 4 hurricane that carries winds as high as 150 mph, your outdoor unit is at risk if it’s not tied down with hurricane strapping. The good news is that when Home-Tech installs your air conditioner, hurricane straps are part of our installation process, so it’s one less thing you’ll have to worry about when your eyes are glued to the weather radar and you’re filling up endless jugs of water.

3 Tips to Protect Your Air Conditioning Unit

Besides strapping, here are some recommendations from FEMA about how to prepare your air conditioning system before the storm hits:

  1. Turn off your air conditioner.
  2. If you have a window AC unit or portable air conditioner with discharge ducts that exhaust through a window or to the exterior, remove the unit/ducts and seal the opening.
  3. Cover any outdoor air conditioners or condensing units with a tarp or plywood to protect the air conditioner from flying debris.

hurricane safeHopefully, your refrigerator, washer, and various other appliances won’t be sucked up into the swirling vortex of a hurricane (seeing an oven fly by your window would be jarring, at best). But, if you purchase one of our air conditioning systems, we’ll make sure it’s secure. Home-Tech Service Agreement customers always get scheduled first for service when something goes wrong. So hurricane season may be a good season to think about getting coverage.

A Summer of Sunny Skies

Meanwhile, let’s hope for a relaxing, hurricane-free summer, where we’ll all be able to breathe a sigh of relief when storm season is over on November 1st — happy in the knowledge that Jim Cantore or Anderson Cooper did NOT arrive on our sunny, calm shores.
